Due to the drastic time change from the East Coast we needed to arrive 3 days early in order to enjoy two days before the cruise. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu. This place is gigantic! Hilton Hawaiian Village spans 22 acres. It is located on the widest stretch of sand in Honolulu on Waikiki Beach.

You actually NEED the map to figure out where you are going. It has five towers of rooms, five pools, five-acre man-made lagoon, 18 restaurants and 80 on-site stores. If you are here on a Friday night, there are fireworks. There is a long check-in line. It was great that we did not have a car to deal with traffic in and our of their parking garage.
Even though we are Hilton Honors members, no one informed us that you mobile check-in and get a digital key. The first night we got our luggage inside the room and went to search for dinner.

We ate at Tropics Bar & Grill on-site restaurant. Nancy ordered Kiawe Smoked St. Louis Pork Ribs. Since she was dealing with multiple food sensitivities Nancy researched for hours where to eat. A challenge indeed, but her research paid off.
As we ate dinner the sun was setting. The Tropics Bar & Grill restaurant is enclosed in netting to keep the birds out, however, the birds get in anyway.

Nancy’s breakfast at Tropics Bar & Grill at Hilton Hawaiian Village on-site restaurant.
Pulled Kalua Pork, half of a papaya, strawberry, and colored potatoes. Delicious!
