This was our second Princess cruise and the first after the pandemic. It was fun to go cruising again! This Western Caribbean cruise went to Cozumel (Mexico), Roatan, (Honduras) got skipped due to rough seas, Belize, and Costa May (Mexico).
In Cozumel we did the Atlantis Submarine Expedition excursion. This was a neat experience!
This was inside the submarine when it got down to a depth of 83 feet.
Seeing things underwater is fascinating, but things lose their color the deeper you go.
Next was Belize City, Belize Cave Tubing & Scenic Drive. We were blessed that the water level was reduced after it had had rained significantly the day before. If not, the cave would have been flooded and our tour cancelled. This was an excellent tour and we would do it again!
We initially had purchased the Glass Bottom Boat & Snorkel Experience. When we arrived at the dock we were told that the water was too choppy and the tour was cancelled. Super disappointing.
We had a choice of a couple of tours that were not sold out. Thankfully we were dressed in our bathing suits.
Determined to make lemonade from lemons. We ended up with a 5-hour beach excursion to Beach Escape Beach Club in Costa Maya, Mexico. This was NOT at a hotel or resort. It is a public beach. Unfortunately, Mike was not feeling well. He sat on his beach chair and tried to take a nap and afterward a few pictures of me. It was about a block away to use the toilets and you had to wait in line. Only good part was that the water was nice and warm! Do you see those dark clouds behind me?
You guessed it! That was a short rain shower! I found a wooden post with a cement block at the bottom that I held onto while the waves moved me up and down. Thankfully I had a wide brimmed hat! The bus ride back was extremely cold since the AC on the bus was on full blast. The bus driver was of course dry and the rest of us were wet! thankfully it was a short ride. We would not ever do this tour again!
Note: Beach Escape Beach Club. This beach is ROCKY into the water for 15-20 feet out. Water shoes are a MUST. Beware of pesky peddlers as I agree they are relentless to the point you were sorry you took this tour! Here is a recent review by a couple that got scammed, but their credit card company helped them out.
