We had a splendid time on this New England cruise! It is impossible to time the Fall Foliage so we decided to book two cruises back-to-back and we are so glad we did.
We were blessed to have the opportunity to see Bar Harbor, Maine. This cruise actually had an hour less in each port than the week following (Part 2).
We got a good view of the ship while riding out to the Rose Island Lighthouse and Harbor Cruise tour.
Boston traffic is normally jammed. Even if you take the hop bus/trolley, be prepared to wait for several trolleys to pass you by.
We chose Princess tour Best of Boston: Harvard, Lexington, Concord & City Highlights (BOS-300) to see as much as possible in multiple locations in 7.5 hours. Quincy Market was provided several options to eat a quick lunch.
Our small group tour BHB110H was cancelled a week before sale. Only a few tours were left and we didn’t want to miss an opportunity at Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. We took a 3.5-hour bus tour to see Fall Foliage. Note: The mornings are sometimes foggy.
Save time for getting a snack at Sou’Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop! Souvenirs and famous gingerbread. The line can be really long as there are many busses at the same time.
When we finished the tour we went immediately to the Halifax Harbourwalk and used Google Maps to find Smoke’s Poutinerie Halifax Waterfront store to eat lunch. It’s situated at Queens Landing Park, 1707 Lower Water Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 1S5
Nancy won’t miss poutine in Halifax! We walked about 10 minutes from the port to Smoke’s Poutinerie. Yummy!
Watch out for bees after you indulge in a Beavertails sweet treat!
Another idea is to take this Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk tour before lunch. You find all the great places to eat and finish full of fabulous food!
Last port, we were delighted to take the Princess Bay of Fundy Coastal Photography Tour (YSJ245) in Saint John. Unfortunately, they no longer offer it.
