A great way to see the British Isles! We did our own land trip with 3 nights in Dublin, 2 nights in Cork, and 2 nights in Belfast then flew to UK for a week on our own land tour before we boarded Regal Princess June 8-20, 2024.

Each year Princess has a new British Isles itinerary. Sometimes it includes Liverpool, Wales, etc.

Single swan swimming in canal at Abbotsbury Swannery & Gardens, Weymouth, England. They arrange tours around feeding times of Noon and 4pm.

We went to Casey’s Bar and Restaurant Clonakilty, Cork, Ireland as part of an all-day bus tour in Ireland. We had great scones and jam/cream for a snack.
Dancers at Abbey’s Tavern, Howth, Dublin, Ireland. Nice place and good food! If you go at night please make reservations and allow 30-45 minutes to find a place to park and walk to the top of the hill.

Sinclair’s Best Ice Cream in Orkney Islands, Scotland
Invergordon, Scotland is a very green, lush area due to all the rain!

Get out your walking shoes for Edinburgh! We paid in advance (round-trip) for the local bus to take us from the port into the city. There is a long line to get back on ship. Make sure you start your journey back to port 2 hours prior to ship departure. The busses are beyond full and deal with too much traffic from the city back to port.
We purchased advanced tickets to ride Lothian 3 hop bus tour “The Grand24.” We had the choice of the City Sightseeing Edinburgh tour (red route), The Edinburgh tour (green), and The Regal tour (blue). We rode both the blue and red tours in order to see our list of things.
City tour and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

For lunch we wanted to experience authentic Scottish nips and tatties. Howie’s Pub required reservations even for lunch which we did not do. It was worth the effort and time to wait. The nips and tatties were delicious! This was our third opportunity to taste Scottish food and the best of the entire trip!

View of Seine River from bridge
We chose the Princess (LEH-105) Paris City Drive & Seine River 10.5-hour tour specifically so we could have photo opportunity with the Eiffel Tower.
Nancy took off her jacket for this photo. This photo was just before noon and the high later would be 73 degrees Fahrenheit which was on the high end for the forecast.
However, later we needed fans inside the glass roof river boat as we were sweating!

Even tough it was a gray day, the sun made the boat into a greenhouse and it was hot on the boat!

I’m not familiar with French food. I had no idea what I ate!

Important Note about tours in France: From the port it is about 3.5 hour drive. Traffic is bad. There are only a few places for busses to use the toilets. The location we stopped had 5 busses and ran out of toilet tissue for the ladies. This situation caused the busses to be even later back to port.
