Imagine a trip to the Holy Land!

Caesarea Philippi

Journey to places like Caesarea Philippi.

When you say a trip to the Holy Land many people think of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Nazareth, however, they miss Caesarea Philippi.

A chance to step into history and see the ancient ruins. This is a beautiful seacoast. Visiting Caesarea Philippi provides a unique opportunity to dig into the historical and biblical narrative, gain insights into ancient cultures through archaeology, ponder on spiritual lessons, and appreciate the natural beauty of the region.

This is location where Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” in Matthew 16:16.

Caesarea Philippi was a center of pagan worship including the Greek god Pan, and was called the “Gates of Hades” or the underworld. Additionally, the Sanctuary of the Pan was located there. The ruins of these pagan temples add context to understanding Jesus’ message and the disciples’ confession in an area of idolatry.

Jesus’ Proclamation about the Church: Jesus declared, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18.
